Neighbourhood Craft & Garage Sale This Weekend!

You are invited to join in the fun...

get warm by the fire, roast a hot dog, slurp on some yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows, listen to carols, do some Christmas shopping, get some bargains and visit all at the same time! Several other homes from our neighbourhood have joined in with us to have a Craft and Garage Sale.... crafts for those looking for new and unique Christmas gift ideas and a garage sale for those looking for some great 2nd hand bargains. So, in other words, something for everyone!

Last year, after David and I moved into the neighbourhood, we put on a big Halloween open house so we could get to know our neighbours in a fun way. We had hot chocolate, hot dogs, cake, chips (all the healthy stuff) and lots of decorations and a campfire. We missed that this year because David had to work straight through the weekend. Poor guy. So it will be nice to have a chance to get together with folks again and enjoy the season together! Hope you can come out, too!

Well, time is ticking by so fast with so much to do! Welcome to my world... self-inflicted of course.

Before I go to Hawaii (yes I am going to Hawaii! How cool is that?) I want to enter the fall competition at the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery and this photo will be one of my entries. It did not occur to me, until a few days after I had finished it, that the colours were perfect for fall! I do have a knack for missing the obvious! Anyhow, 'Visione di Domani' means 'Vision of Tomorrow' in Italian. I felt it needed a rather romantic, mysterious name so my son, Gord, helped me with some great ideas. Thanks Gord! This piece is the beginning of, what I hope to be, many more. It is also for sale on our A2Sea Photography site. If you are artistic, you may be interested in checking out the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery and perhaps enter your own work! They always have a ton of competitions and events going on!

Our two Etsy shops will be closed for a couple of weeks and will re-open again on October 5th, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our booth, however, will be down at the Nanaimo Farmer's Market on September 29th from 10 am to 3 pm, down by the waterfront on Front Street beside the Bastion. I will not be there but Cheryl will be, along with her friend Janice who will be helping. Be sure to check our booth out, even if to just visit with us and have some fun! Keep in mind that Christmas will be here before you know it and we have so many great gift ideas and stocking stuffers!

Two More Sleeps!

TWO MORE SLEEPS!

Well it's just two more sleeps until our big sale and we're pretty excited! As it turns out, the sale actually starts at 9 am, which is good news for me, not being a morning person and all! Someone had their wires crossed. We will be there setting up at 8 however. So if you come early, no problem... there will be coffee on and doughnuts provided. Doughnuts are in the five food group category.... aren't they? Later on, they will be serving hotdogs so that will be handy dandy...no need to bring a lunch!

So many purty things have we! Here is an example of one of our newest 'Mermaid Treasure Pendants' and the pretty bottles you see underneath are chock full of our homemade, Lavendar Sea Salt Scrub. Men... we know how you most of you dislike wrapping presents so we have done the work for you... each bottle is all decked out in cellophane, special 'mermaid ribbon', a Happy Mom's Day sign and ready to present to your mom or sweetie!

Well, Cheryl and I are both pretty pooped but we are looking forward to our sale and seeing people we know. A special thanks to Dorothy for coming out the day before to help us and for lending us her canopy! Oh... and for getting us boxes, telling people about us and being an all around great support! My hubby David just offered to help us get everything to the sale and back, offering his muscles and his big vehicle. This is a huge gift because my body is pretty wrecked (lol) and Cheryl was prepared to do all the grunt work while I set the stuff out and decorated. I was feeling bad about that. So thank you so much for offering my dear hubby! I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a big, fat smoocharooni. What a wonderful thing it is to have a hubby who is on your team! I am blessed.

It is supposed to be sunny on Saturday so that will be a bonus! Hope to 'sea' you all there!
